The Culinary Skills Challenge is an annual event where high school students can showcase their artistic and scientific creations through hands-on competitions and seminars. Competitors can participate in one of seven culinary categories while students in the Culinary Competition are vying for SMSU Scholarships of $2000, $1000, and $500!

Students may also participate in various hands-on activities demonstrated by food industry professionals. Scheduled Interactive Session Topics will include: Barbeque Grilling, Fondant 101, Cake Pops, Pork and Popcorn Paella, Chocolate!, What's a Food Broker?, Southeast Asian Flavors.
