Culinary Skills Challenge 2016

The Culinary Skills Challenge is an annual event where high school students can showcase their culinary talents through hands-on competitions and seminars. Competitors can participate in eight food-related categories including a Culinary Competition where students vie for scholarships of $2000, $1000, or $500 to Southwest Minnesota State University's Culinology program. 

Students may also participate in various hands-on activities demonstrated by food industry professionals. Sessions are being added daily, but confirmed topics will include: Barbeque Pitmaster Basics,  Cupcake Construction, Fun with Fondant, making Frushi, a tour and demonstration of Southwest Minnesota State University's Culinology program, plus return visits from Chef Tim McCarty and Chef Lance White.
