If you have added any new CTE courses, you must send an update to MDE.
Program Approval
If there is a new course being taught by an appropriately licensed CTE instructor within an existing program, please send a course update to mde.cte.program.approval@state.mn.us with the following information:
Email Subject Line- Course Update: Your District #, Your Program
Example- Course Update: #1234, Ag
Example- Course Update: #1234, Ag
- District Number
- District Name
- Program Number
- Course Number
- Teacher Name and File Folder Number
- Course Name as it appears on your syllabus
- Copy of the course syllabus
Normally this change would also apply if you were changing the course name or instructor of any approved courses. But, since everyone will be submitting a new application next summer/fall, those changes can be made at that time to save a little extra work. The Minnesota West Consortium is due for Program Approval in 2019-20. The application form can be accessed through our Perkins website. Training on how to submit the application will be offered at the teacher meetings being held in November and December. You may begin working on your Program Approval on your own, but please do not submit before May 1, 2019.
Why, is this important? The Program Approval list MDE
keeps must match the information your local MARSS coordinator uses or their
data will be inconsistent when submitting their P-file each summer. Any
discrepancies may affect our performance measures and consortium
funding.
