BestPrep will once again partner with the University of St. Thomas to hold its four-day Technology Integration Workshop (TIW) on July 28-31.
The TIW is a hands-on
professional development opportunity that provides educators from all
ages and disciplines the chance to try out technological devices
(interactive white boards, slates, document cameras, iPods, iPads, etc.) and
learn how to incorporate them into their everyday lessons and units.
Participants also see the technology
and career skills being used in business by participating in a half-day
job shadow with business such as Travelers, 3M, Ecolab and
UnitedHealthGroup. The purpose of the job shadow is for teachers to see
how curriculum is used in real world settings to better prepare students for
the 21st Century workforce.
Teams of educators from
the same school or district are especially encouraged to attend and are offered
special discounted rates. Schools without staff development funds may
apply for special scholarships. Openings will be filled first-come,
first-serve; priority deadline is April 30, 2014. For more information or to register, visit http://bestprep.org/programs/technology-integration-workshop/
